Why we point you here

A Napoleon III pavilion hidden in the Bois de Boulogne, where a Robuchon protégé serves some of the most precise haute cuisine in Paris.

Built in 1856 as a pleasure pavilion deep in the Bois de Boulogne, Le Pré Catelan is now one of Paris's ten three-Michelin-star restaurants, a green-and-silver jewel box redesigned by Pierre-Yves Rochon. Frédéric Anton — a Meilleur Ouvrier de France who spent seven years under Joël Robuchon at Jamin — has run the kitchen since 1997 and earned the third star in 2007. His style is one of disciplined restraint: top-drawer produce stripped to its essentials, scallops and langoustine and caviar handled with razor precision and sauces of real depth, building toward a quiet crescendo. Signatures like the langoustine raviolo with foie gras jelly nod to his Robuchon roots. Unusually for a room at this level, glass tables replace white cloths. Named Gault & Millau's Chef of the Year for 2025. A serene, historic Parisian splurge a world away from the city's bustle.
