Atelier Crenn
Restaurant
Why we point you here
Chef Dominique Crenn's San Francisco room, where the menu arrives as a poem and dinner follows it line by line.
Chef Dominique Crenn opened Atelier Crenn in 2011 as a deeply personal project — "atelier" meaning workshop — and built it around what she calls Poetic Culinaria: your menu is handed over as a poem she wrote, each line corresponding to a course. In 2018 she became the first female chef in the United States to hold three Michelin stars, a genuine line in the sand for the country's dining world. The small Marina-district room is hung with her late father's paintings, the menu is pescatarian and seafood-forward, and the pastry finale has a reputation all its own. Three Michelin stars. Worth building an evening around.
