Two Belfast lads, Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry, opened the Dead Rabbit in 2013 in an 1828 building near the bottom of Manhattan and named it after a gang that used to run the Five Points. Downstairs is a proper Irish pub with pints, pub food, and an Irish coffee people will genuinely fight you over. Head up to the Parlor and it flips into a serious cocktail room, seasonal menus told like a comic book, and the biggest Irish whiskey collection in the country behind the bar. It's twice been named World's Best Bar by the World's 50 Best Bars and keeps stacking up Spirited Awards. Get the Irish coffee downstairs first. Then climb the stairs and settle in.
