Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester

Why we point you here

Contemporary French haute cuisine inside one of Mayfair's grand hotels — three Michelin stars, held for over a decade.

Chef Alain Ducasse — one of the most decorated chefs alive, with three-star rooms in Paris and Monaco — opened this restaurant inside The Dorchester on Park Lane in 2007, and it took three Michelin stars by 2010. The kitchen is now run by Chef Jean-Philippe Blondet, who worked alongside him for years before taking the reins and has kept the standard exactly where it was. The style is what they call naturalité: French technique in service of the ingredient, seasonal and unshowy. A few signatures have been there since opening — a lobster medallion with chicken quenelles and Périgord truffle, a rum baba to finish — and you get to choose your own glass from a collection of Baccarat crystal. A grand, old-school London evening, done properly.
