Paradiso
Why we point you here
Cocktails engineered over months and served with a magician's timing, the menu rebuilt around a new theme each year. You get in through a fridge door in a pastrami shop.
At Paradiso, a cocktail is closer to a small theatrical act — an ever-changing menu built each year around a single theme, drinks developed in a dedicated lab, serves designed to *do something* in front of you. The Supercool Martini is poured tableside and freezes into an iceberg in the glass as you watch. Founder Giacomo Giannotti — a Tuscan who named the place after his family's gelateria — wraps all this in a warm, whale-ribbed room hidden behind a refrigerator door in a pastrami shop in El Born, so the setting amplifies the drinks instead of upstaging them. It topped the World's 50 Best Bars and has stayed near the summit for years; once you've watched a drink assembled like a magic trick, you understand why.
