Barcelona
Lasarte
Why we point you here
Barcelona's first restaurant to win three Michelin stars — the legendary Martín Berasategui's flagship in the city, run day to day by his longtime protégé.
Lasarte is the Barcelona embassy of Martín Berasategui, one of the most decorated chefs alive, named for the Basque town where he built his empire. He opened it in 2006 and recruited Chef Paolo Casagrande to lead the kitchen; in 2017 it became the first restaurant in Barcelona ever to hold three Michelin stars. The two have worked side by side for over two decades, and the cooking shows it — Berasategui's iconic dishes alongside Casagrande's own creations, all built on flawless seasonal produce in immaculate balance. The room is one of the most striking in Spain, with undulating ceilings meant to evoke waves and jellyfish-like lamps overhead, inside the five-star Monument Hotel on Passeig de Gràcia. Polished, generous, and right in the heart of the city.
